Statement on the Kamloops Indian Residential School atrocity

The UBC Department of Linguistics has a long-term commitment to Indigenous communities as they work to recover from the residential school era and its aftermath. We are horrified and saddened by the recent discovery of the remains of 215 children at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. We offer our support and solidarity to the families and communities affected by this atrocity.
